This is a 14th Century barn on Dartmoor, Devon. Working with a local architect, we converted it into living space. All the woodwork we fabricated at our shop and installed on site using the traditional 'draw peg' method of fastening the joints. The staircase and screen with arch top door are in sweet chestnut wood, with a natural oil finish. All local lumber was used. The window in the entry beyond is original. We had to repair some of the fine oak detail carving work.
Another kitchen we made in the same area of Dartmoor, again using sweet chestnut wood. Note the walnut handles we made for accent and good grip. We also made the window out of english oak.
Designing this display area for a local indoor market gave us an opportunity to work in paint. We were looking to create a fresh, summer garden feel, with storage below for extra stock on hand. Again, we fabricated in our shop and installed in on site in the coastal town of Torquay, Devon.
This is a small galley kitchen we made in the beautiful little town of Ashburton, Devon. The details we designed to have the character of the early victorian home, and we used blond ash wood to keep the space light.
This is Robin Daly, my partner, and I working on an arch top window for a victorian period restoration. Curved work became one of our specialities and we were commissioned for spiral staircases, entry doors, and curved cabinets more than a few times. We loved the challenge!
